A favourite of mine and the rest of the crew is the Elaho. Big mountains, big valley, big glaciers, big trees (the Randy Stoltmann wilderness area has some of the biggest old growth fir and spruce in the world) and the river, big water. It is majestic, wild, pure and untamed. Within one hour’s drive north up the Squamish Valley is the heart and veins of the Elaho Valley. Driving up there is a powerful experience in itself and that’s before you sup down its tumbling waterways. The glaciers flow down and hang off the peaks, streaming into waterfalls pouring frigid water into the valley and filling the river with endless runoff. Class 4 rapids with excellent roller coaster rides bearing names like Steam Roller and the Devil’s Elbow send us off in a blissful state of mind. I could go on about this place forever but hopefully you can come for a visit and see it for yourself and share in this beauty. To sum it up, in the Squamish area, there’s a lot to keep ya busy!
