WHAT IS SUPBIKERUN?
Supbikerun is a new kind of triathlon. We’ve totally flipped the conventional triathlon format on its head. The swimming has been replaced with SUP (stand up paddleboard) and both the bike and run are set off-road on trails and tracks.
Event #01 is to be held on Sunday 21st September, Chichester, West Sussex
We have hired a 40-acre fresh water lake with superb facilities and excellent access. This site not only boasts everything needed for a successful SUP event, it also has plenty of space for sponsors to exhibit and demonstrate product. Located next door to the lake are Rolls-Royce Motor Cars who have kindly hired us their staff car park for the event. This venue delivers an amazing backdrop for the event and provides ample parking and space for registration and the bike / run transition points. From the Rolls-Royce car park it’s a 1 mile bike ride / run to access the off-road trails and tracks. A stunning formation of loops that take our competitors up and over the South Downs National Park providing some of the most stunning and challenging off-road cycling and trail running in Sussex
We have been running an intensive campaign on Facebook successfully growing our following from zero to just over 3,000 in only a month. In conjunction with this we are running a Twitter campaign and hitting our press list with fury.
We currently have a simple holding page in place where people can register for event updates; this is receiving 20-30 people registering per day. Next month our website will go live and tickets will be on sale. Our objective is to sell 300 tickets for our first event. We want to keep the first event intentionally small to ensure the event is slick and the competitors have an amazing experience. Next year, supbikerun will be rolled out nationwide hitting 4-6 locations across the UK.
