The Euro Tour is coming to town and what a weekend it is going to be!
Throughout the weekend, Carbis Bay will provide the hub from which the event will take place. There will be an athletes village comprising of trade stalls, demo equipment and refreshments.
International names Connor Baxter, Jake Jensen and Jim Terrell have confirmed they will be attending!
There will be a two day race format – May 30th (long course) & 31st (technical course)
On the Sunday we will also be hosting a Junior Race, team knock out race, taster sessions and coaching.
Races
Saturday 30th May
Main long course (10km) – 14″ ONLY
A 5km looped endurance race.
The course will entail only three turns, maximising technical speed and endurance. Both the start and finish will be on the beach at Carbis Bay. The direction of travel around the course will be dictated by the prevailing wind conditions to maximise the longest down wind route.
10km 12’6″ Race
To ensure every board size can race we will also be holding a 10km 12’6 race. Starting with the EURO Tour on the beach the field will be segregated with the 12’6” class initially aiming for a wider turn buoy 400m from the start ensuring minimal interaction between the differing length boards (see below).
Sunday 31st May
The Surviver!
The Last SUP Standing – a short, tight and fast course. Once the lead paddler crosses the line the clock starts – the next race will start every ten minutes! Each circuit the last three paddlers will be eliminated leaving a final of two competitors (male & female).
Team Racing
Fast and furious fun for paddlers and non paddlers alike. Teams of six will compete over a 150m course against each other to claim bragging rights and goodie bags.
Junior Racing
Using the Starboard Astro inflatable, youngsters will be able to race sections of the main technical race using a heat system. A and B finals along with repo-charge rounds will ensure that the youngsters will get more than one race.
